Seeking Experts to Inform Bioindustrial Manufacturing Curricula

BioMADE is seeking Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to collaborate on curriculum development for projects accelerating workforce readiness in bioindustrial manufacturing. The projects are developing plug-and-play modules for community college curricula and building a comprehensive community-to-career pathway for bioindustrial manufacturing jobs.

SMEs are needed for each of the following topics:

  • Product Fermentation

  • Product Separation and Purification

  • Sample Collection and Preparation

  • Analytics

  • Instrumentation and Process Control

  • Documentation and Communication

  • Safety and Regulations

  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting

During this collaboration, SMEs will:

  • Validate curriculum topics, competencies, and learning objectives

  • Explain bioprocessing tasks, processes, concepts, and related equipment and instrumentation

  • Share existing resources (articles, videos, SOPs, regulations, case studies, etc.) to inform content development

  • Review outlines, design documents, and curricular materials for technical accuracy and authenticity

  • Attend meetings with the curriculum developer and other project personnel

Please share this opportunity with your networks! SMEs are anticipated to contribute 20-25 hours of their time over 8-12 months developing technical content for curriculum and beta testing materials. SMEs will be compensated, either directly or toward their organization’s membership in-kind dues. Specific timeframes will vary by topic and SME availability. Please reach out to Louise Petruzzella at lpetruzzella@biomade.org with interest or questions.
