OUSD R&E Industry Day Announcement
Members, please see the announcement below from the Office of the Principal Director for Biotechnology at OUSD(R&E).
The Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research & Engineering, OUSD(R&E), invites U.S. businesses and stakeholders to join a virtual Industry Day event to learn about an investment initiative geared toward those looking to support accelerated growth of our domestic biomanufacturing capacity. This production-scale bioproduct capacity investment program, open to U.S. businesses and stakeholders, complements BioMADE’s ongoing effort to establish a national network of pilot-scale biomanufacturing facilities and is focused on developing commercial-scale infrastructure to directly enable domestic production of DoD-relevant bioproducts. The Industry Day forum is to assist biotechnology businesses and manufacturers (including BioMADE members), as well as consortia in their quest to expand U.S. production-scale biomanufacturing capacity and to commercialize bio-products.
Following the in-person OUSD(R&E) Biomanufacturing Industry Day that was held on September 20th, OUSD(R&E) will continue to delve into:
Innovations that fortify our supply chain infrastructure
Aligning domestic biomanufacturing capabilities to DoD market needs
How to effectively work with Government production-scale infrastructure investment contracts
The strategic timeline of the production-scale biomanufacturing capacity investments
Industry insights and reflections on our program goals
