Development of a Sustainable, Low-Cost, Oil Process for Heart-Healthy DoD Rations

In this project, member Checkerspot will focus on scaling up the domestic biomanufacturing and downstream process capacity of microalgae oil production. The ability to biomanufacture oils at scale and on demand in a matter of days can play a critical role in U.S. supply chain resiliency as well as climate change adaptation and mitigation. These healthy, sustainable oils can be used in a wide range of industries and products from materials to foods.
